New Asylum Website

Nov 17, 2007 in News

If you’re reading this you’ve probably noticed that The Asylum website has been redesigned. We decided that our 10th Anniversary would be the perfect opportunity to update the look and functionality of the site, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

In addition to a cleaner, more up-to-date look, we’ve updated the catalog of titles and improved the search functions.

For those of you who miss The Asylum Bulletin Board, it’s been replaced by The Asylum News and Production Blog you’re reading now. We loved the Bulletin Board… but so did the spammers… and it was becoming too time-consuming to clear all the porn ads (as much as we enjoyed seeing badly Photoshopped nude pictures of Britney). With the new blog, we hope to keep you better informed of the goings-on at The Asylum, and you’ll still be able to interact via the Comments function.

But this is only the beginning. In future phases of the redesign we plan on adding more trailers; giving buyers the ability to download title art, stills, and other delivery materials; and updating and improving the online Store.

We’re really excited about all the changes with the site and hope you like them. Now use that Comment function and let us know…

Record Sales at AFM

Nov 12, 2007 in News

The Asylum celebrated its 10th Anniversary in style, with record sales at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA.

“Excitement generated by new titles, including; I AM OMEGA and 30,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, made this our most successful AFM yet,” reported Paul Bales, The Asylum’s Chief Operating Officer.

In addition to new agreements with long term customers in Japan, Russia, and Thailand, The Asylum also established new relationships with companies from Austrailia, Brazil, and Romania.
