Dear Asylum

Monday, July 14th, 2008 @ 10:51 pm | Headline, Other

One of the risks of posting your email address and phone number on your website is that people will actually contact you. One of Admin’s favorite memories is listening to a fifteen minute voicemail rant from a drunk guy who was upset because there wasn’t enough violence in Supercroc (and then called back to leave another fifteen minute message because he forgot a few things).

We get a lot of enjoyment out of the “fan” letters we receive and thought you might enjoy some of them too. You can read some of our personal favorites here (Warning: Some of the language in these emails is for MATURE AUDIENCES). Names and other identifying characteristics have been removed, but these emails are otherwise unedited (or spell checked).

We’ll post more of your correspondence here from time to time. We’ll even post some of your compliments.

If we ever get any…

What the emails clearly show is the lack of focus these people had in English class during their school years. Even so, angry, bad grammar, ranting emails are always fun to read. Since you guys and Uwe Boll keep getting flack, maybe y’all should team up. THE ASYLUM PRESENTS AN UWE BOLL FILM…that would attract some attention.

If Asylum keeps on the track of 100 MILLION BC, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and other of the better mockbusters, I think that the quality is improving. However, there have been some problem ones…ALIEN VS HUNTER being a big one. Problem is that there isn’t much going on in terms of action with the films, it’s just people walking around till the last few seconds of the film when something happens.

I’m a theater employee and the amount of uber-crap people are willing to pay to see boggles the mind. I can honestly say the Asylum films, even the worst ones, are better than the latest Asian or American remake…or SOMETHING MOVIE to hit theaters. If you had done a mockbuster of PROM NIGHT called PROM SLAUGHTER or something, you would have to try really hard to make something worse than that.

I’ll be picking up 100 MILLION BC and DEATH RACERS when they hit DVD.

The Asylum movies suck balls and so does Rick for liking them. Nuff said.

Rick should bush up on his English.
