We’ve had almost as many hits as Latt’s “leaked” sex tape.

I think I was the first to put the trailer up on YouTube (on 11 May) and since then it’s had 843,821 views and nearly 3000 comments. I was also the first to put up the pic of the Maga-Shark eating the Golden Gate bridge:

– and that sent the hit-rate on my blog soaring — nearly, but not quite, as high as when I blogged early pics from “Cleavagefield”. So you’re not wrong re the header of this post. Many commenters have scorned it — but the interest levels sure are high. I think the fans are sending a message. More maga-giant monsters please!
I’ll be reviewing the film as soon as I can get a copy.

Funny and true story: After Latt received a number of particularly profane emails, he wrote back to the authors and politely told them he was sorry they didn’t like our movies. In every single case, a concerned parent wrote back with something along the lines of “I apologize for my son’s first email. He’s not supposed to use the family computer without permission.”

In answer to your question, no, we weren’t trying to “rip off” anything with this film. We didn’t even know there was a series of books about megalodon (but then again, we can’t read…). The idea for MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS came from one of our Japanese buyers, who asked us if we could make a movie about a giant shark fighting a giant octopus…
