We’re Moving!

Jun 30, 2009 in News, Other

We’ve decided to use some of the billions of dollars we’ve made ripping people off to move to a brand new production facility in The Valley.

Effective July 1, 2009 The Asylum will be located in Burbank, California.

As much as we’ll miss the glamour of Hollywood (the traffic, the monthly drug raids in the parking lot, the transvestite prostitutes…), we’re very excited because we’re getting more than twice the space for about the same amount of rent.

So, starting tomorrow please send all hate mail and lawsuits here.

Spooky!

Jun 19, 2009 in Headline, News, Releases

Principal photography has started on our latest feature, HAUNTING OF WINCHESTER HOUSE.

Directed by long-time Asylum collaborator, Mark Atkins, this classic ghost story about a family trapped inside the haunted mansion will be released in time for Halloween.

Starring Lira Kellerman, Michael Holmes, Patty Roberts, and Tomas Boykin, HAUNTING OF WINCHESTER HOUSE will  be available in 3-D from select retailers.

You can see a few more production stills here.

Intervista a Latt

Jun 16, 2009 in Headline, News, Other

A few months ago we were surprised to learn that The Asylum has a significant fan base in Italy. There’s even a website devoted to our films (Interessante, perché solo un paio dei nostri film sono disponibili là…)

This week our friends at Pellicola Scaduta  posted an in-depth interview with our own David Michael Latt.

You can read it in English here, or in the original Italian qui.

Now if only a distributor in Italy would buy some of our movies…

Unity in the Middle East!

Jun 09, 2009 in Other

Our friend Rod found this story on an Israeli website:

Because we can’t read Hebrew (or English), Rod also provided this translation.  He even included some of the reader comments (We especially enjoyed the last one.).

Israel is united with the rest of the world… in hatred of The Asylum.

The trailer for TRANSMORPHERS: FALL OF MAN is now online.

In this present day prequel to our 2007 hit, TRANSMORPHERS, the robotic alien invaders attack the Earth and a small group of humans lead a small resistance against the machines.

If you’ve seen the first movie you know how that turns out…

Transmorphers: Fall of Man hits the video shelves on June 30, 2009.

No Temporal Refunds

Jun 03, 2009 in Other

Every couple of months we receive an email that includes some variation of the following:

“Give me back the two hours of my life I wasted watching your movie.”

We don’t mind negative feedback (it’s practically the only kind we get), but this one just bugs me.

For one thing, it’s not clever and it’s not original. In fact, dare I say it… it’s sort of a mockbuster of cinematic criticism. Second, our movies are rarely longer than 90 minutes (they just feel like they’re two hours). And frankly, they don’t usually get any better after the first 15. If you hate the movie and still end up watching the whole thing, I’m sorry… but that’s on you.

So, please don’t ask for refunds of time anymore. Just tell us what you really think, like Jeff, who wrote:

“I hate you please die in a fire”

Now that’s original.

Help Deborah Gibson/Do a Good Deed

Jun 02, 2009 in Headline, Other

Please read this note from our favorite actress, Deborah Gibson:

I am relentlessly trying to keep the arts alive for young people!

Pleez help out, if you can, by bidding on amazing silent auction items – trips, shows w/meet n greet, memorabilia, etc.

Go to deborah-gibson.com and click on “Bidding for Good”! (OR JUST CLICK ON THE IMAGE ABOVE- Admin)

For info on my camp – one of the places scholarship money is sorely needed – go to deborahgibsonselectricyouth.com.

One week left!

If you yourself cannot bid, please help me out by forwarding this to your mailing list!

Thanx so much! I really appreciate it!

X Deb

I’m not trying to make you feel guilty, but Deborah did save all of you from a Mega Shark and a Giant Octopus.
