We’ve decided to use some of the billions of dollars we’ve made ripping people off to move to a brand new production facility in The Valley.

Effective July 1, 2009 The Asylum will be located in Burbank, California.

As much as we’ll miss the glamour of Hollywood (the traffic, the monthly drug raids in the parking lot, the transvestite prostitutes…), we’re very excited because we’re getting more than twice the space for about the same amount of rent.

So, starting tomorrow please send all hate mail and lawsuits here.

Principal photography has started on our latest feature, HAUNTING OF WINCHESTER HOUSE.

Directed by long-time Asylum collaborator, Mark Atkins, this classic ghost story about a family trapped inside the haunted mansion will be released in time for Halloween.

Starring Lira Kellerman, Michael Holmes, Patty Roberts, and Tomas Boykin, HAUNTING OF WINCHESTER HOUSE will  be available in 3-D from select retailers.

A few months ago we were surprised to learn that The Asylum has a significant fan base in Italy. There’s even a website devoted to our films (Interessante, perché solo un paio dei nostri film sono disponibili là…)

Transmorphers: Fall of Man hits the video shelves on June 30, 2009.

Every couple of months we receive an email that includes some variation of the following:

“Give me back the two hours of my life I wasted watching your movie.”

We don’t mind negative feedback (it’s practically the only kind we get), but this one just bugs me.

For one thing, it’s not clever and it’s not original. In fact, dare I say it… it’s sort of a mockbuster of cinematic criticism. Second, our movies are rarely longer than 90 minutes (they just feel like they’re two hours). And frankly, they don’t usually get any better after the first 15. If you hate the movie and still end up watching the whole thing, I’m sorry… but that’s on you.

So, please don’t ask for refunds of time anymore. Just tell us what you really think, like Jeff, who wrote:

“I hate you please die in a fire”
