Call to Action

Friday, November 12th, 2010 @ 5:26 pm | Headline, News, Other

I have a confession.

I hate math. I always have. I’m not good at it. And since I’m responsible for The Asylum’s finances, this is really saying something.

My point?

Netflix uses math to determine which movie to order and when. They use sophisticated algorithms to gauge public demand for a title. We’ve used liquor and blackmail photos to try to crack their system, but the only thing we’ve been able to find out is that Netflix orders based on how many members have queued a particular title.

This is where you come in. We need you. If you are a member of Netflix please go to the site and add 2010: Moby Dick to your queue. Tell your friends to do the same. If you run a website, blog about it. If you’re Ashton Kutcher, tweet your six billion followers.

This isn’t about trying to get you to watch our movie. This is about gaming the system. This is about taking a stand.

Against math.
